Making Memories at Viborg-Hurley
Viborg-Hurley Elementary Gets New Addition
The Viborg-Hurley playground got a new addition this past weekend thanks to everyone that supported our Wellmark Community Kickstart Grant. We appreciate everyone's help and effort in this process and judging from the excited kids that were here this weekend this new addition will be a hit with the little ones.

Please join me in welcoming both ladies to our school board.
Music Concerts Putting the "Sing" into Spring
Musical sounds have been coming from our music classrooms as the students prepare for the spring concerts. In fact we are lucky enough to have three music concerts coming up in the next few weeks that you won't want to miss. The first one on the schedule is the Middle School Concert at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18th at the Hurley building. The second concert is the High School Concert which is scheduled for Thursday, April 27th at 7:00 PM in Viborg. The third concert is the Elementary Concert which is scheduled for Friday, May 5th at 7:00 PM in Viborg. The kids have been working hard to put on a good concert for your listening pleasure and we hope that you will be able to take in at least one if not all of these evenings.
Muffins for Moms
Thank you to all of the moms, grandmothers, step-moms, foster moms, and aunts that participated in the Muffins for Moms event this morning. You made your children's day! I also want to thank all of the behind the scenes helpers that helped the event to run smoothly.
We would like to thank Mrs. Pam Chaussee and Mrs. Jan Harmon for all of their years of dedication and service to the children of the Viborg-Hurley School District, Viborg School District and Hurley School District. You will both be greatly missed and remembered for the love of learning that you have instilled in our students.
A Future in the Film Industry
Recently students in Mrs. Smith's novels class were asked to produce a book trailer describing a mystery novel that they had read.
One of these trailers that caught my attention was done by our own Patrick Simonsen, Brittney Leber, and Olivia Rasmussen with the help of actors/actresses: Sydney Novak, Savannah Westrom, Wolfgang Rothschadl, Maria Houtcooper and Allison Stoltenburg. Thus book trailer was for the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. It has been posted on YouTube and is worth a peek if you get a chance.
A second trailer that is worth a look was for the book The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. This trailer was produced by Allison Stoltenburg and Makenzie Ericksen. The Actors/Actresses were Makenzie Ericksen, Patrick Simonsen, and the voice over was done by Brittney Leber.
The third trailer that I thought was very well done was for the book Night School. The trailer was produced by Quinn Doorn and Tanner Pulscher with the help of the following actors: Gus Benson, Nathan Jahnig, Cole Vanballegooyen, Logan Hansen, and Waker Kropuenske. The action shots in this trailer were especially well done.
This reviewer thinks that the short productions of Gone Girl, The Lovely Bones, and Night School show not only a good use of cinematography but also portray the theme of each the books quite nicely. We certainly have some very talented students. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on a nice job on putting together such a professional presentation.
PS: If you click on the links above it will take you directly to the book trailers in question. Enjoy!!!
