Muffins for Moms
Thank you to all of the moms, grandmothers, step-moms, foster moms, and aunts that participated in the Muffins for Moms event this morning. You made your children's day! I also want to thank all of the behind the scenes helpers that helped the event to run smoothly.
Donuts for Dads
Thanks to all of our dads, step-dads, grandfathers, uncles and brothers for making our donuts for dad event special. Our kids were so very glad to have you come in.
National Play Your Recorder Month
Our Viborg-Hurley 4th Grade students have been learning how to play the recorder as part of the music curriculum this year. In honor of "National Play Your Recorder Month," the 4th Graders took their talent on the road to share it with the residents to the Nursing Home in Viborg. This short concert allowed them showcase what they have learned and how hard they have been practicing. Nice Job, 4th Grade and Mrs. Christiansen on your performance. Thank you to the residents for being such an appreciative audience.

Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart
Through Jump Rope For Heart program kids learn jump rope skills and through the Hoops for Heart program kids learn jump basketball skills. In both programs the students learn how their heart works. The American Heart Association’s goal is to improve the cardiovascular health of Americans. They challenged our kids to start living a healthy lifestyle now to prevent problems later and gave them an opportunity to participate in a service learning project that funded the fight against heart disease and stroke the #1 and #5 cause of death in our country.
The students at Viborg-Hurley elementary learned a great deal about healthy hearts, they spread this message to their family and friends, and through the service learning project were able to raise $3,241 for the American Heart Association. Great Job!
The student from each class that raised the most money in donations for the American Heart Association got to put a whip cream pie in Mr. Jacobsen’s face.
